All of our ingredients are listed on our website for full disclosure. That being stated, we have specifically chosen ingredients that are naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and self-preserving. In the few instances where this isn't preserving enough, we use an organic food-grade preservative such as potassium sorbate. While our products do not need to be refrigerated, it is advised to treat them with care since they are so pure. We advise keeping them out of extreme heat and sunlight. When treated properly, our products can last from 1 to 3 years from production, much shorter than traditional products and even some other "organic" ones that can last up to 10 years after opening.

We use a natural vitamin E oil obtained by vacuum distillation of vegetable fats. This Vitamin E oil is great for preventing rancidity and acts as an antioxidant in creams, lotions, baby products, cosmetics, and more. This particular vitamin E oil has been verified and tested as GMO-free from crop to finished material. Our Vitamin E Oil contains 18–20% mixed tocopherols and measures close to 7500 I.U. per ounce. It is derived from soybean oil and has a composition rich in delta and gamma tocopherols, which is a natural choice for antioxidant function.

The only real difference is in the aroma. You will find this in several of our products. For instance, lavender bliss and rejuvenating peppermint are both moisturizing. Calming lime and chamomile, Purely Amazing Orange Ylang Ylang, and Spicy Island Cinnamon Bay are all balancing for normal to dry hair, made with equal amounts of moisture and protein.

Why do this? We have found that once our customers use our products exclusively, they experience amazing, healthy hair. It is shiny, has more movement, and they notice less hair loss. Many say that they don't have to wash their hair as often, and their style looks great longer! Because of all of these positives, we began getting requests for different flavors. They wanted to try new things and switch around but didn't want to leave the Shear Miracle Organics results. Rather than having our clients use another SMO shampoo and conditioner that may not be just right for them (because they wanted a new flavor), we created a few options.

Yes. At the Shear Miracle Organics Salon, we have hard water, and we use the products exclusively. Occasionally, we hear from others with extremely hard water that our shampoos don't suds as much, but they still do the job and work quite nicely. As you are probably aware, our products do not contain any chemicals, including those that cause a ton of suds. These chemicals are harsh and toxic to both the hair and skin and a person's health. Quoting a recent client, "Your shampoos suds; they just don't bubble." We stick to our values of using only ingredients that are beneficial and give the hair a professional-quality look and feel.
